Kim Crawford Wins Gold for best wine match with Oysters at the 16th Annual International Wines for Oysters Competition!
On 9th November, a distinguished panel of judges gathered at the Old Ebbitt Grill in Washington DC to choose the gold medal winners of the 16th Annual International Wines for Oysters Competition. The Competition's objective was simple - to determine which wine tastes the best with freshly shucked oysters.
Virtually every year the results are the same, and 2010 was no different: Sauvignon Blanc from the Marlborough district in New Zealand beats the pants off of every other wine in the world when it comes to matching up with a delicious oyster.
This year, seven out of the top ten winning wines were Sauvignon Blanc’s from Marlborough, including the Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc 2009, which took out a gold medal.
Please pass the oysters, and make mine a glass of Kim Crawford Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc…
