Bragato Awards

A very proud Adam “Dig” Evans picked up the Champion Classical Red Wine trophy at the Bragato Wine awards dinner last Saturday.

The winning wine was the Kim Crawford Small Parcels Corner 50 Merlot 2008. It was a satisfying win for Dig and the entire Corner 50 viticulture and winemaking team.

The fruit comes from “A Block”, the Merlot vines on the left hand side of the driveway as you drive in to the winery. The vines are carefully managed throughout the growing season, with shoot thinning, leaf plucking and fruit thinning utilised to achieve optimally ripe fruit at the time of harvesting by hand.

For 2008 the 12 best barrels from one of the “A block” open top ferments were selected to be bottled as the Small Parcels Merlot.
