Chardonnay is the Gisborne region's greatest gift to the wine world. It is freshly scented, with deliciously ripe citrus and tropical fruit flavours.
The wines made for early consumption can be delicious at six months old, but Gisborne is also the source of distinguished, concentrated, complex Chardonnays with a proven ability to mature well for several years.
Gisborne is also excelling with particular aromatics – pungent, peppery Gewürztraminers; full-bodied, tropical fruit flavoured Semillons; and ripe, tropical Pinot Gris.
