I was more than a bit surprised to see this 5 year-old NZ riesling in the line up and the bright gold colour certainly indicates maturity, though the nose and the palate are still full of life and flavour.
This could well be the best Kim Crawford wine I've tasted in the last 3 years. There's pleasant petrol-kerosene notes as expected, plus some candied citrus flavours, but the intensity and balance are very good. Long finish. Fully mature and ready to enjoy, though I don't think there's any rush either. John Szabo
